He studied with Eli Kassner in Toronto and enjoyed Master Classes with the likes of Christopher Parkening, Alice Artzt and John Mills. He has been involved in a myriad of guitar related activities over the years including performance, sales, collecting, artist management, and general ambassador for the beauty of the classical guitar.

Bruce Brogdon

A founding member of Guitar Houston, Bruce Brogdon has been a player and teacher since he was 19. He is now retired from Houston Community College where he taught English for thirty five years. During this time, he was also a guitar teacher in HCC’s music department. His interest in early music led him to take up the lute, and he has studied privately and in master classes with Paul O’Dette and Pat O’Brien.

Bruce has performed with the Texas Baroque Ensemble, the Green Mountain Consort, the Houston Baroque Ensemble, the Texas Early Music Project, La Follia Austin Baroque, Ars Lyrica Houston (based at University of Houston), and Aquinas, formerly the resident ensemble of the University of St. Thomas. Bruce now resides in the Canyon Lake area near New Braunfels.

Dana Comer

While Dana is the only non-guitarist among the board members, her classical guitar journey has consisted primarily as that of a parent of an extraordinarily talented son. After years of lessons, competitions, festivals, auditions, and concerts, her musical partnership with her son has yielded a young guitar virtuoso of whom she is immensely proud. This experience of twenty years has forged her passion for the instrument, the repertoire, and the community of aficionados that support its continued excellence. Dana has retired from the business world where she performed administrative roles in law firms as well as a fortune 500 company.
