Many of Guitar Houston's members are established teachers and outstanding performers. If you are looking for a great teacher, or want to find a classical guitarist in your area for hire to perform, you may contact any of the people listed below. The following is a partial listing of our professional membership, alphabetically by last name. The individuals listed below are of a high professional caliber and are recommended by Guitar Houston.

If you would like to be added, contact guitarhouston@comcast.net. You must be a current member of Guitar Houston. Please provide contact information and qualifications. Guitar Houston reserves the right to decide who will be listed by board of directors vote, based on your credentials. We generally require teaching at a college level and graduation from an esteemed guitar degree program, plus audition at a public Guitar Houston meeting to demonstrate performance ability.

Isaac Bustos
Classical Guitar performance and Instruction.
Isaac has experience working with all levels and ages.
Currently, he is Director of Guitar Studies at Texas A&M University Department of Performance Studies in College Station. Isaac holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of New Hampshire, a Master of Music from the University of Texas at Austin where he is also a doctoral candidate for the DMA in performance under the tutelage of world-renowned American guitarist Adam Holzman. He is a Top Prize winner in 13 major international guitar competitions 7 of which include first prizes. Concertized extensively all over the US and has also appeared in concert in Canada, Mexico, Europe and Central America. He is regularly invited as clinician and masterclass teacher for several guitar festivals all across the US. His committment to teaching is reflected in the success of his students whose prize-winning performances have included the Eastfield Guitar Festival and competition, The Brownsville Guitar Ensemble Competition, the Classical Minds Guitar Competition and the Houston Young Artist.

Terry Gaschen
Instruction
Terry Gaschen (B.A. Rice University 1973) has taught classical guitar at St. Thomas University since 1988. A student of Spanish guitar virtuoso Pepe Romero, he has also studied in master classes with Joaquín Rodrigo, Federico Moreno Torroba, Leo Brouwer, Manuel Barrueco, Sharon Isbin and others. Gaschen has performed as soloist with with the Houston Grand Opera and Theater Under the Stars. In 1973, he co-founded Guitar Gallery of Houston, which became an internationally recognized center for classical guitar. In addition to teaching there, Mr. Gaschen has taught at Rice University, Houston Baptist University, St. Johns School, and The Houston High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. A number of his students have gone on to successful careers in classical guitar performance and recording.
